yeah but the characters in itng don't run around like maniacs "belly popping" each other! the teletubbies just freaked me out, and there was always that ironic wink to the student market...
#1 "Makka Pukka likes to get his rocks off"
#2(what the hope is a "Uff-uff"?)
#3 Pffffffff
#4 "his favourite Stone"? That's one hard dude!
I've only had very limited exposure to this world so far but I find it quite disturbing. What's more disturbing is that children really, really love it, it seems to make perfect sense to them (or the ones I have witnessed so far at least). What about the pontipines, I think that's what they're called? Characters who exist but are too small to be seen.... It must be stopped.
spiderbaby - it's probably all just good clean fun, designed to stimulate and interest little kids, it's just from our unfortunately adult point of view we can't help but think "my god, what were those people on??"
I see the children becoming like the ones out of The Midwich Cuckoos...
Surely only the Daily Mail can save us! :)
ah yes the daily mail, that great bastion of traditional family values...
On second thoughts, I'd rather take my chances with the world of Iggle Piggle and friends.
Well, when I was wee it was the magic roundabout, mister ben and Jamie and the magic torch.... so trippy kid's TV is nothing new.
Wow! Never seen this ... looks fun!
I used to love Magic Roundabout and there's no question they were all off their tits there. Hell, I'm pretty partial to the Beatles, too.
Is there anyone around old enough to remember "Said the Cat to the Dog" on Children's Hour. How I loved that. And Mary Plain Books? Sigh !
A friend of mine banned Tellytubbies in his house. He said it was too freaky for children. On the other hand, as a Christian he would tell his children Bible Stories ... God talking out of a burning bush? That's freaky!
